Collor Fold Meet Hand-Penned DSP

These cards  feature the Collar Fold with the upcoming Hand-Penned DSP, available on May 4th. These just represent  one color of cardstock. I created 13 others with the same style but different cardstock and ink. Each of the cards show off the new Soft Succulent Ribbon and the new In Color Jewels. The small scalloped base shows off the Color and Contour Bundle and Stampin' Blends, too.

Measurements:

·      Highland Heather           4-1/2 ” x 11”

·       Basic White             5 1/4” x 4”

·      Hand-Penned  DSP                       5 1/4” x 4”

G Gorgeous Grape, Basic White, or Highland Heather scraps to cut out the scalloped tag with Color and Contour Dies.

Instructions:

1.     Determine the center of the DSP on the right side. Cut a slit from right-to-left for 1-1/2” to 1-3/4”.

2.     Score diagonally from the middle of the slit to each corner.

3.     Fold back on the score line and adhere the flaps done with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

4.     Layer each sheet of paper using Tombow. Stamp sentiment with coordinating ink on the DSP.

5.     Stamp the flower from Color and Contour with Memento Black Ink. Color with Highland Heather and Just Jade Stampin' Blends. Cut out with matching die. Adhere with liquid adhesive.

6.     Adhere the Basic White base on the inside with Tombow. Add a 1" x 4" DSP to the inside.

Enjoy this fun fold card!

Luv 2 Stamp Blog Hop April Teacher Appreciation School Bus

Welcome to the Luv 2 Stamp Group’s 2021 Blog Hop! We are excited to share projects with you this year; we hope to inspire you to create beautiful new projects. Each month we will have a different theme based on the next month’s celebrations using Stampin’ Up! products.

Once you are done with each post, scroll down to the bottom and you will see a list of Blog Hop participants; you can click on their name to go to their post, or you can click the next button to go to the next post in line. Happy crafting! This month’s theme is Teacher Appreciation. My project is a school bus that holds treats or a gift card.

This cute little bus is transformed from an ice cream truck that I made for a class. Here it is.
I just used different paper to create the bus, but I did use the same directions, inspired by Mary Eastridge at Mary's House of Cards.

Here are the directions using Bumblebee cardstock:

  • You need 3 pieces of card stock – 2 @ 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 and one at 2 1/2 X 3 1/2
  • 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 – On the long side score at 3 and 5 1/2 turn and on the short side score at 3
  • 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 – On the long side score at 1 1/2, 3, 7 turn and on the short side score 1 1/2 and 4
  • 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 – score 1/2 all the way around.
  • 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 – cut out the corners, angle the ends of the tabs, burnish score lines
  • The 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 piece that is scored a little off centered, with the 2 1/2 section facing you, cut on the score lines on the short end just to the first intersecting line. Do both ends. Then with the 2 1/2 section still facing you, cut from the bottom left corner of the middle block on score line up at an angle. I usually measure to get a more even cut. See tutorial for clarification. Burnish all score lines
  • The remaining piece, on the long sides, cut on each score mark to the first intersection. Please watch the video for step-by-step directions.
  • Video for Ice Cream Truck
  • You can decorate the truck as you desire. I used the  retiring Apple Building Punch and the Harvest Hellos Cling Stamps. The light paper is from the Hydrangea Hill DSP. The sentiment was cut using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.

In the picture, the back flap is just pushed in. The back of the bus will  open to fill with treats or gift card for that special teacher.

This colorful card uses several products from the new catalog, one of which is the gorgeous Hand-Penned DSP. The sentiment label is cut from Color and Contour Die set. The simple flower is stamped with Memento and colored with Simply Succulent and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends. I did try Mango Melody for my first flowers, but did not like it. Even though I used Bumble Bee cardstock, Mango Melody is too dark. I embellished the card with Bumble Bee Ribbon and the carrying-over Blue Backed Adhesive Gems. Peeking through from the inside is the sentiment from Color and Contour, also.

This thank you card will be given to  anyone ordering $50 or more from my online store. I can't help but want to show off these beautiful crafting materials!

I embellished my card with the new Highland Heather Grosgrain Ribbon and Pastel Pearls. How do you like this simple, yet lovely card. I put the sentiment inside.
