Luv 2 Stamp February Blog Hop Abstract Beauty Suite

Welcome to the Luv 2 Stamp Group’s 2021 Blog Hop! We are excited to share projects with you this year and hope to inspire you to create beautiful new projects. Each month we will have a different theme based on the next month’s celebrations using Stampin’ Up! products.

Once you are done with each post, scroll down to the bottom and you will see a list of Blog Hop participants. You can click on their name to go to their post, or you can click the next button to go to the next post in line. Happy crafting! This month’s theme is Celebrating Women.

I have selected the Abstract Beauty Suite to create my project for the special women in my life. The 4" x 6" paper is gorgeous, with one side with foil and the opposite side a less flashy design.  But the cards needed a special decorated box. I took inspiration from Lori Pinto but experimented with the measurements to allow the 4"x 6" Abstract Beauty Cards to fit. Here are the directions:

Cut Pieces
8-3/4" x 12" Night of Navy
2-5/8 x 12" Night of Navy (2)
Artistic Die in Gold Metallic Specialty Paper

Score:

On the short end, score at 1-1/4" and 7-3/4"

On the long edge, score at 1", 2-1/4". 6-1/2", and 7-3/4"

Using your bone folder, burnish all the score lines. Cut up to the 1-1/4" line and as noted in the pictures. Create your box and add the Abstract Beauty DSP to the front panel.

Close the box with a belly band and decorate with the Gold Metallic die and Adhesive Backed Hexagons. Here is one of the cards that will go in the box.

Would you agree that this is gorgeous paper? I hope you will honor the women in your life with products from the Abstract Beauty Suite.

You may be starting here or have come from another blog - either way you can find the link list at the bottom of this post so that you can see every blog post and idea today.

Here are the measurements and some directions for creating this Thank You card. I did create this card for a technique class with the Butterflies and Flowers Decorative Masks. Purple hues were used, yet one could use any color re-inker to color the Shimmery Embossing Paste.

Measurements:

Gorgeous Grape A-2 Card Base, scored at 4-1/4"

Basic White Layer 4"x 5-1/4" (2x)

Basic White Layer 3-3/4" x 5"

3/4" Embossed Gorgeous Grape strip

2 feet Tri-colored Ribbon

Basic Black for ladybug's body

Highland Heather scrap for ladybug's wings

Matte Black Dots

Basic White sentiment tag

Directions:

1. Color Shimmering Embossing Paste with Highland Heather Re-inker to desired darkness. Spread paste over the flower mask very thinly.  Remove mask and put the mask in soapy water immediately. Wash the palette tools, also. Let dry.

2. Adhere strip embossed with the Gingham  Embossing Folder with liquid glue. Glue pasted layer to the other Basic White layer and tie with Tri-color ribbon or Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon. Attach all layers to the Gorgeous Grape cardbase.

3. Put together the ladybug and embellish with bling. Adhere with dimensionals.

4. Stamp sentiment of choice with Memento Black Ink.

5. Glue Basic White card base inside to allow for a message to the recipient.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
