Luv 2 Stamp Blog August Theme: Birthday Celebrate with Tags and This Birthday Piggy Pop-Up Card

Welcome to the Luv 2 Stamp Group’s 2022 Blog Hop! We are excited to share projects with you this year and hope to inspire you to create beautiful new projects. Each month we will have a different theme based on the next month’s celebrations using Stampin’ Up! products.

Once you are done with each post, scroll down to the bottom and you will see a list of Blog Hop participants. You can click on their name to go to their post, or you can click the next button to go to the next post in line. Happy crafting! This month’s theme is Birthdays.

I did take inspiration from a sample of Pinterest, and I thought I would create it. (Crafting with Joanie)  For the theme I combined Celebrate with Tags and the super cute stamp set This Birthday Piggy. On September 1, 2022, the coordinating dies for This Birthday Piggy will be available for purchase.

Cut List

10 1/4" x 5 1/4" piece of cardstock.
-Score at 4-14", 4-3/4", 5-1/4", 5-3/4", 6-1/4"

Fold the 5 score lines with Valley, Mountain, Valley, Mountain, and Valley folds.  Done correctly, your card now closes into a 4 "x 5 1/4" card inside.

Turn this card over. If you've done this correctly, your scored lines look like a letter "W" from the side.  Run tacky tape to stick the folds together so that the folds disappear and make it look like a normal card.  Flip it back over.  The inside of the card should now have folds sticking up in the shape of a letter "V."

Stamp the balloon from Celebrate with Tags Stamp  in various colors. I used Shaded Spruce, Real Red, Crushed Curry, Highland Heather, and Polished Pink. Fussy cut the balloons. Cut thin 1/8" strips of acetate to attach your balloons to.  Attach them to balloons with liquid adhesive. Make sure to back the balloons with another balloon so you will not see the backside.

Sandwich your acetate strips (with balloons) in the "V" with Tear and Tape.  To do this, lay one strip of Tear and Tape on one inside "side" of the "V."  Lay your clear plastic acetate strips in the tape so the balloons are farthest away from the tape.  Add a second length of tacky tape--this time to the other inside "side" of the "V."  Close the "V" to sandwich the acetate and create the "stand" for your balloons. You may need to use liquid glue. If so, apply small clips. Attach to a card base when dry.
Decorate the inside of the card. I used a piece of Celebrate Everything DSP, Designer Tag Dies with the Happy Birthday from Celebrate with Tags set. Embellish with a balloon, 1/2" strip of Real Red cardstock, and Red Rhinestones.

On the outside, the cute piggy was stamped with Smokey Slate and colored with Stampin' Blends and cut out with the new dies. Demonstrators got to order these dies before the release date.

Here is the video of the finished card. Make someone's day by giving this fun birthday card!
